An Afternoon of Cornish Films

Award winning film director Diana Taylor presents a selection of fascinating short films about life in Cornwall. The films cover different aspects, providing a rich tapestry of people and places that makes the county so unique. The films cover a variety of subjects from people living in the wild to Newlyn fishermen.

Also included are St Ives women who worked in the textile industries for Crysede and later the war effort making camouflage materials. There’s a film about the history of the mining community around St Just. There is also a short poetry film in the Cornish language by Owain Holland, a fluent Cornish speaker and a poetry film by the late renowned Frank Ruhrmund from the Cornishman. Director Diana worked as an editor with the BBC for most of her life and has won awards.
